PRO BONO REPRESENTATION PROGRAM

Litigants may apply for free legal representation. Applicants are screened for income eligibility and case priority. Income eligibility is determined by Maryland Legal Services Corporationโ€™s (MLSC) Guidelines.

๐Ÿšจ Important Changes to Eviction Law in Anne Arunde ๐Ÿšจ Important Changes to Eviction Law in Anne Arundel County & Annapolis Take Effect July 1, 2026 ๐Ÿšจ Beginning July 1, landlords must provide 14 days advance written notice, and under the new "Lock and Leave" process, personal belongings left inside a unit at the time of eviction may be locked inside the property. After 24 hours, a landlord may dispose of, donate, or sell the remaining items. Understanding your rights before an eviction occurs is more important than ever. Beyond talking about careers in the legal field, our team had the opportunity to have conversations with students about purpose, community, advocacy, and the many different paths that can lead to meaningful work. We know exposure matters. ๐Ÿ“ข CLS LAWYER IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM - CITY OF ANNAPO ๐Ÿ“ข CLS LAWYER IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM - CITY OF ANNAPOLIS โš–๏ธ CLS is partnering with the City of Annapolis to provide free legal assistance to income-eligible Annapolis residents through the CLS Lawyer in Residence Program at the Annapolis Office of Community Servicesโ€™ Robinwood Satellite Office. Beginning May 21, a CLS attorney will be available every Thursday from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. to assist with a variety of civil legal matters, including: โš–๏ธ Landlord-Tenant Matters ๐Ÿ“ Expungements ๐Ÿ“„ Simple Wills & Advance Directives Services include legal counseling, limited document preparation, and referrals. Assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
