CLS was proud to participate in the Senior Information Fair, where we shared important legal resources to help older adults in Prince George’s County stay informed about available services in their community. From housing and healthcare to wills and estate planning, our team was on hand to offer guidance and support tailored to seniors’ needs. Thank you to everyone who visited our table! #AccessToJustice #CLSPGC #SeniorSupport #CommunityMatters #LegalAid #CLSProud

From Crisis to Hope: Young Mother Finds Stability From Crisis to Hope: Young Mother Finds Stability with Support from CLS At just 18, Alana* was facing a crisis no young mother should face alone. Referred to CLS by the Family Justice Center, she was quickly connected with Volunteer Attorney Lakuita Bittle, Esq., who began advocating on her behalf within 24 hours. While seeking legal protection, Alana was living in a shelter—but time was limited. Thanks to Tameika Jackson from Fair Girls, she and her daughter received emergency housing, which soon became a path to long-term stability. Alana found a job, started building her independence, and gained legal safety with a Final Protective Order. Today, she’s preparing to move into a program home—and eventually, her own apartment. Thank you, Attorney Bittle, for all that you do! *pseudonym and stock image used to protect client identity.
