  • Lawyer Referral Program

    New clients with civil legal matters in Prince George's County may apply for a lawyer to represent them. Telephone intakes are conducted on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings from 9:30 a.m. until Noon. Proof of financial eligibility is required.

    Staff members speak English and Spanish. Legal matters handled include divorce, custody, visitation, guardianship, wills, special education placement, defense of suits in tort or contract, some landlord-tenant cases, etc.

  •  Foreclosure Prevention Project


    Our Foreclosure Prevention Project seeks to assist homeowners at risk of losing their homes due to foreclosure with an opportunity to maintain their home.  Our volunteer lawyers will help homeowners with loss mitigation, including negotiations of repayment, forbearance, and/or loan modification plans.

     

    Client who have received any of the following are good candidates for this program:

     

    • Letter (s) from lender or lender’s attorney about foreclosure
    • Notice of Intent to Foreclose
    • Notice that a foreclosure action has been or will soon be filed
